Sean Jordan

Sean Jordan

As a sophomore, Sean was a reporter on staff, as a junior, he was promoted to news editor and this year, Sean has beenput in charge of spearheading Cub Online, the online version of the Cub Reporter. Sean is a member of Quill and Scroll Honor Roll, and his column, “Column as I see ‘em,” has been awarded state and national honors. This summer, Sean was one of about 40 students nationwide selected to attend the Asian American Journalists Association J-Camp in Boston, Mass. He was recently named the Indiana High School Journalist of the Year. Sean is also Lawrence Central’s student body president and is the co-founder of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Board. Lierin Ehmke

A senior, this is Lierin’s third year on staff. She entered as a reporter at the beginning of her sophomore year and was promoted to features editor at the semester mark. She remained the features editor until this year, when she became the first-ever broadcast producer of the “Cub Now” program, the Cub Reporter’s broadcast affiliate. Mimi Strobel

Mimi Strobel

Mimi is a senior that has been on staff since sophomore year. As a junior, she was the staff’s entertainment editor, and is now the co-editor of the print version of the Cub Reporter. She is receiving money from the 2009 Indianapolis Press Club Association Jerry Lyst Scholarship, and in attending the IU High School Journalism Institute this past summer, she and Allie Nash earned an award for the most outstanding leadership. She is also a member of Quill and Scroll Honor Roll. Mimi was also a captain of the LC soccer team, is the vice president of Varsity Club and is a member of National Honor Society. Allie Nash

Allie is the only staff member that has been on staff since her freshman year. Allie was brought on staff during her freshman year so she could work with her sister, who was then the editor-in-chief. She was promoted to sports editor for her sophomore and junior years, and is currently the co-editor of the print version of the Cub. In attending the IU High School Journalism Institute this past summer with Mimi Strobel, she won the Outstanding Team Award. A senior, Grant has been on staff for two years. He was brought on as a junior to help tackle the online beast, and is now the Cub Online’s webmaster. Greg Price

With one year’s experience, junior Greg Price earned the position of news editor. As a sophomore, Greg was a reporter for the Cub, writing primarily news and sports stories. This past summer, Greg was LC’s delegate to the internationally-acclaimed Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Seminar. Greg is a member of Quill and Scroll Honor Roll and the LC National Honor Society. As a junior, Hannah was a reporter on Staff, and this year, she is the co-features editor for the staff. She is now a member of the Quill and Scroll Honor Roll. Katie came on staff for her second semester of sophomore year as a reporter, and now, as a junior, Katie is the co-features editor of the Cub. She is an experienced journalist, as she has written for Y-Press, a children’s news network featured in the Indianapolis Star, for seven years. A senior, Lena is the design editor for the Cub. It is her first year on newspaper staff, but her second on the yearbook staff, where she is also the design editor. Elizabeth Granger has been the adviser of the Cub Reporter since August 1989, when she left an editorial position at the Noblesville Daily Ledger to return to teaching.
