Q: How many years have you played on varsity?

A: Three years

Q: What position do you play?

A: Small Forward

Q: What is your favorite part about LC Basketball?

A: Working hard every day to get better.

Q: When did you first start playing basketball?

A: In the second grade on the IBA “Slammers.”

Q: When did you know basketball was the sport you wanted to keep playing?

A: I never really thought about stopping. I have just always wanted to keep playing?

Q: What is your favorite moment?

A: Hitting the game winning shot in shot in OT against Washington in front of the home crowd.

Q: What are your plans next year?

A: I’m playing for Goshen College.

Q: Who is your favorite NBA player of all time?

A: Reggie Miller. Boom baby.

Q: What is the best game you have ever had?

A: Eighth grade for Belzer basketball against Craig I scored 25 points and we won the game.

Question for Coach J.R. Shelt: What do you notice most about Matt as a player?

A: He’s one of the most consistent players I’ve ever coached.

    Wow! I am impressed again!! Is that my grandson they are talking about? I can claim him? Good looking, extremely smart in both academics and basketball…go Maple Leafs!! Is that the name of the team to be rooting for next year?
